On one of my early treks towards Fukugawa waterfall, I first came across the Japanese Tiger Beetle. At the time, I wasn’t even looking for it—just pausing along the path when a sudden flash of metallic green and bronze darted across the trail.

In life we cannot simply run from everything that can potentially harm us. Nobody wants to live in a greenhouse protected from having any fun, what fun could life be without the odd danger, a life without hurdles presents no challenge. That’s not the life for me.
As with all waves they come in sets. A noticeable lull would then be followed by a “Holy Moly” session when the size of the waves would again have me questioning my choice of shooting location.
