Cosmos Flower Bloom
Cosmos Flower Bloom
For this photograph, I used a close-up wide-angle technique with a 15mm 1:1 macro lens to completely fill the frame with the delicate petals of a white Cosmos flower as a bee hovered and worked in the process of pollination. To properly illuminate such a tight and precise scene, I relied on a dual macro strobe system, carefully positioning the strobes to cast even, natural-looking light while ensuring that neither the arms nor the housings crept into the edges of the image. Balancing the flashes at such close range demanded patience, but the result captured both the fine detail of the bee’s textured body and the softness of the Cosmos petals, glowing under controlled light. It was a moment that combined technical precision with the fleeting beauty of pollination, preserved in a single frame.
