In the early morning stillness of the Yambaru jungle, I trained a long telephoto lens into the pine forest, using its natural compression to layer the scene and enhance the sense of depth. A soft mist drifted between the trees, clinging to the trunks and branches while dull gray skies above cast an otherworldly veil across the landscape. The interplay of mist and forest created an atmosphere of quiet mysticism, as though the jungle was holding its secrets just out of reach. By isolating the scene through the lens, I was able to distill that fleeting, ethereal quality that makes Yambaru mornings so enchanting.
