When Winter hits, along with it comes the waves. Okinawa tends to be very seasonal, wave wise. This suits me down the the ground as I can concentrate on the wildlife in Summer and the Ocean in the winter. Nothing pleases me more than being in the Ocean and seeing the liquid body in the close vicinity morph into something wild and frenetic. Using a surf housing, a small pair of body boarding fins and a water sports helmet to stop impacts, from the reef, surfboards, or my camera gear to save my head from impacts and I’m set to go.
I use my professional grade cameras with a dedicated surf housing from Aquatech Imaging Solutions, a US based company that is seen by many as the leading manufacturer of sports grade surf housings. It’s with this housing and an array of ports that allow me to shoot wide angle, telephoto, and split water imagery.
