The Ocean in Motion is one of my favorite elements to photograph. For me there is an artistic side to long exposure photography, something gained in a more refined visual when super long exposures have been shot. Long exposure imaging doesn’t have to be super long exposures, anything slower than 1/30th of a second in shutter speed can be considered long exposure as it is at that point when the majority of folks would need to employ the use of a tripod or monopod in order to get sharp imagery. When water, rocky coastlines or waterfalls are the subject of my imaging I try to hit a shutter speed of around 1.6seconds to get that sense of motion whilst at the same time not blurring too much any other elements in the shot, like these fishermen at Cape Zanpa.
