Across the expansive lagoon of Fakarava Atoll in French Polynesia the outline and silhouette of neighboring coral islands that form the protective reef of the atoll are seen almost shimmering on the horizon at sunset. At times I would sit on the beach at sunset watching these distant shimmering gems wondering what secrets of the deep swam between us. How did our side of the lagoon look to someone who may have been gazing back at in our direction at that very same time? Lost in thought and mesmerized by the setting. A five day vacation in such a place seems to flash by in an instant. Making it a sure fire reason for a return visit, one day.
