Zamami Island in the Keramashoto National Park of Okinawa, also known as the Kerama Islands, is a great and local place to my home on Okinawa where I can head with some amount of surety to photograph sea turtles in some of the quiet bays as they feast on the abundant marine grasses found on the sandy seabeds of these shallow spots. I encountered this Turtle and spent around 40 minutes winning its trust with maintaining a respectful distance and slowly closing in over a period of around ten minutes to get this shot. I was using a 12mm lens so for it to be this large in the image the Turtle was alsmot leaning on the front port element of the underwater housing.
